You can pay for your tax disc online or by phone. The DVLA has introduced a service to make things more convenient for the UK's drivers. When you renew the tax disc on the internet or by phone, your vehicle insurance and MOT validity will be electronically checked. If you have recently updated your insurance or test certificate it may not be successful.

Please do not forget to renew your application in plenty of time, as it is an offence to keep a vehicle on a public road which is not displaying a valid tax disc, even if you have applied and are waiting for it to arrive.
