Renew Your Vehicle Licence online
www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc
Tel: 0870 850 4444
You can pay for your tax disc online or by phone. The DVLA has introduced a service to make things more convenient for the UK's drivers. When you renew the tax disc on the internet or by phone, your vehicle insurance and MOT validity will be electronically checked. If you have recently updated your insurance or test certificate it may not be successful.

Please do not forget to renew your application in plenty of time, as it is an offence to keep a vehicle on a public road which is not displaying a valid tax disc, even if you have applied and are waiting for it to arrive.

Have you MOT'd your Paperwork?
It is just as important to MOT your paperwork on a regular basis as it is to check the air in your tyres. Every time your name, address or other details change you can apply for an updated Driving Licence and Vehicle Registration Certificate free of charge.

Why is it important to update?
It is a legal requirement to notify DVLA when you change name and/or address. Failure to notify DVLA could result in a £1000 fine.

Informing DVLA about changes to your name, address or the details of your vehicle is very important. DVLA’s records are used to support law enforcement, track down road tax evaders, owners of abandoned vehicles and those involved in vehicle theft and related crimes.

Our records are used to notify you if your vehicle needs to be recalled and contact you or your family in the event that you are involved in an accident.
