Wherever children are being cared for, their
safety and well being must be paramount. To help ensure this,
all early education, childcare and playworkers must undergo
'fit person' checks. This can involve giving consent for a
police check to be completed as well as providing referees
who can confirm details of their previous work experience or
who can provide a character reference.
It may also involve
a health check or giving permission for their GP to be contacted.
In the case of childminders, all people living in the childminder's
house are also checked to ensure that children are cared
for in a safe environment. We do our best to ensure Childminders
