November was quite a split month with settled weather in the first two weeks then unsettling depressions resulted in a damp period from the 18th to the end of the month. The total rainfall for November was 43mm which was quite dry for a late autumn month. This lower than normal rainfall was 43 per cent of the 30 year average at Lyneham. The most rainfall in a 24 hour period fell on the 18th were 14mm of rain was recorded. The temperature was above average too, where thermometers averaged 0.5°C above normal and the highest recorded temperature was 15.9°C on the first day of the month and then gradually temperatures declined. The coldest minimum temperature recorded was -3.2°C recorded on the 24th. Clear and bright skies allowed quite a significant amount of sunshine to brighten up the autumnal scenes as fall began. Eighty-nine hours total sunshine was documented which was 124 per cent of the average. The longest day sunshine record was on the 12th where 8 hours of bright sunshine, even though the temperature only peaked at 10°C
