Pressure was generally high until
the 12th, but a very disturbed
period followed between the 13th and the end of the month
although pressure did rise sharply on the
29th/30th. During this very unsettled period we recorded
a relatively wet period and another period of extreme rainfall.
The wettest day was recorded on the 24th with 26.6mm of
rain. The weather was very changeable and sunshine figures
were high for the month too, making the late autumn fall
scenes very picturesque and bright. A noticeable feature
was during the bonfire night celebrations most of the trees
still had all of their season leaves and still green. There
was no sign
of autuminal
change. The average monthly temperature was 10.8°C
which was 1.2 degrees above the 30 year mean. |
