The very unsettled south-westerly type
which set in just before the New Year lasted without interruption
until the 20th, but january 2007 was one of the warmest
months again despite the large downpours. The monthly average

which is a repeat of most of the winter months this season.
Thermometers
touched 13°C on the 18th and seven days later they
dropped to record the lowest minimum of -3.7°C. The
clear skies both day and night resulted in quite warm sunny
days, and
chilly nights with days where the grass temperatures fell
below 0°C. The total amount of sunshine for the month
was 116% of the norm accumulating from 63 hours of sun.
January
was another month of heavy downpours and we experienced
88mm of rain for the month, which again was 129% above
