Wootton Bassett Appreciation
Parade
On 12th October 2008 the armed forces staged a parade
through Wootton Bassett to thank the town for their support to
the berieved relatives and friends of servicemen and women who
fell in the service of their country. It was such a magnificient,
display and those servicemen and women showed their
pride in displaying their medals that were gleaming in the sunshine.

Court Rules That 'Failures' Led To Hercules
Deaths

when the RAF Hercules they were flying in was shot down in
2005 near Baghdad outside the inquest to the deaths on 22nd
October 2008 in Trowbridge, England. The coroner David Masters
concluded the inquest with a narrative verdict and said a number
of failures had led to the men's death. The Hercules C130K
aircraft, 47 Squadron Special Forces flight XV179, crashed
after being hit by anti-aircraft fire while flying at about
150ft between Baghdad and Balad on 30 January 30, 2005. All
10 men on board - nine RAF serviceman and a soldier - were
