Spurs fight back for amazing draw
Tottenham Hotspur came from 4-1 down to draw 4-4 with Aston
Villa in a thrilling Premier League game on 1st October 2007.
Manager Martin Jol's job looked in serious jeopardy when they
fell 4-1 down but three goals in the last 21 minutes
may just have kept him in charge. Cheered on by fans who
had earlier celebrated the club's 125th anniversary, the hosts'
comeback was completed in injury time when Younes Kaboul produced
a fine finish. Despite their heroics, Spurs remain in the drop
zone.

Raikkonen pips Hamilton to title
Kimi Raikkonen is the new Formula One world champion after
Lewis Hamilton's dreams were crushed in Brazil.
Hamilton endured a nightmare race at Interlagos, finishing
only seventh after running wide on the first lap and then
his McLaren suffering mechanical problems.
Ferrari star Raikkonen took the chequered flag first and,
with the other title contender Fernando Alonso finishing
third, the Finn took the title by a single point.
He finished on 110 points with Hamilton, who had led the
championship since May, on 109.
Two-time defending champion Alonso also ended with a tally
of 109 points but finished third overall in the championship
due to Hamilton's greater number of second-place finishes
over course of the year. 21st October 2007

Spit the Dog
GUESS that’s what you’d call an
air of the dog! But Stanley the wire-haired fox terrier looks
more
RAF
than
ruff as he goes for a spin in his replica Spitfire.
The four-month pup wears a flying hat, goggles and jacket
to ride in the “plane” made from an old holdall
and skateboard.
Owners Phil and Sharon Cook created his outfit for a Hallowe’en
party at a dog boutique near their home in Leigh-on-Sea,
Essex. Sharon, in her 40s, said: “People think we’re
barking, but Stanley loves it.”
