Final Farewell to Highbury
Sunday 7th May 2006, as Highbury's countdown clocks reaches zero, fireworks light up the north London sky and streamers rain down on the pitch. Fans old and young got emotional as they reflect on the special memories Highbury has given over the years. Arsenal captain Thierry Henry said the 4-2 win over Wigan, which gave the Gunners fourth spot in the Premiership, was a fitting finale for Highbury.


Sean Bean Outlawed at Lyneham
Sean Bean was on location at RAF Lyneham on Sunday 7th May filming a scene for 'Outlaw' a new production by Vertigo Films. Bean, who plays a rugged war-worn soldier, was filmed stepping off a Hercules C130J onto a deserted pan and slowly walking to a desolate Air Terminal with his head down and kit slung over his shoulder. more..


A380 Visits the West
On Thursday, 18 May 2006, the new Airbus A380 performed a fly past over Filton Airport, Bristol in salute to the aerospace engineers who helped build the plane. She's been dubbed the Queen of the Skies, and the VIP version of the new Airbus A380 - complete with golf driving range - will cost a king's ransom. The double-decker jet, whose wings are built partly at Airbus's plant at Filton, Bristol, goes into commercial service later this year.


Eurovision Rock Show
A Finnish "horror rock" group who dressed in monster costumes pulled off a surprise win at the 51st Eurovision Song Contest in Athens on the 20th May 2006. European viewers voted for Lordi's song Hard Rock Hallelujah in a show that is normally associated with catchy pop and big ballads. Russia came second with Dima Bilan's Never Let You Go. But UK rapper Daz Sampson could only manage to come 19th out of 24 countries with his song Teenage Life.
