HRH Queen Trooping
of the Colour
Members of the Royal family Prince William, Camilla Duchess
of Cornwall, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth
and the Duke of Edinburgh watch the fly past on the balcony
of Buckingham Palace in London following the Trooping the
Colour ceremony marking the Queen's official birthday in London,
11th June 2005. Camilla, Prince Charles's new wife, appeared
on Saturday for the first time on the balcony of Buckingham
Palace, an iconic setting for royal appearances before the
British public.

Anti-European Union
An Anti European Union constitution banner is seen outside
Downing Street in London on 6th June 2005. Britain will suspend
legislation on Monday to set up a referendum on the new European
Union constitution, already overwhelmingly rejected by voters
in France and the Netherlands.

Elton John and Lulu
in Swindon
Sir Elton John visits
the County ground Swindon to play some his greatest hits.
A packed audience of 20,000 watched and listened in glorious
weather to the sound that have made the Watfordonian famous.
He was supported by Scottish legend Lulu, revisiting her famous
hits of the sixties and seventies.
Elton, who had a special wish for Swindon Town FC, who he
revealed he used to watch as a boy when, the son of a RAF
trumpeter, lived at Lyneham. "When I was a little boy

Summer Solstice Stonehenge
Up to 21,000 people gathered amid beating drums and blowing
horns to witness the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge on 21st
June 2005. Cheers rang out across Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire
as the sun rose over the heel stone at 0458 BST. Stonehenge
is an amazing feat of engineering and still many historians
are seraching for the methodology behing the circular stone
monument. Druids - a pagan order dating back to Celtic Britain
- believe the solstice signifies the 'oak king' being overcome
by the 'holly king', who rules the second half of the year.

Henmania Over For Another Year
Tim Henman crashes out of Wimbledon 2005 in round two day
four [23rd June] to Russian Dmitry Tursunov. The Russian proved
to be too strong in the final set ending Henman's hopes with
a 3-6 6-2 3-6 6-3 8-6 victory. Henman - the sixth seed and
British no.1 - has reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon four
times and has reached at least the 4th Round every year since
1996. However, he was pushed to five sets in his first round
match against Jarkko Nieminen, and endured another 2nd round
five set marathon against Tursunov.

Fireworks explode over tallships sailing in the Solent off
the coast of Portsmouth, southern England 28th June 2005.
Britain celebrated an epic naval victory on Tuesday but a
descendant of its hero Admiral Horatio Nelson said the Battle
of Trafalgar bicentenary was trying too hard not to offend
