The RAF Lyneham 10km race will take place on Saturday 26th
September 2009. The race
is open to all and will be held on a fast, flat
course within the confines of RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.
Flight Lieutenant “Seb” Coe, a pilot on 24
Squadron is organising the race. He said: “I
was based at RAF Lyneham as a Loadmaster on the Hercules
before I was commissioned as a Pilot and returned to Lyneham
earlier this year. When I was
here before, I arranged the RAF Lyneham 10km race for
2 years. I saw the Station Commander when I returned
as a pilot and he tasked me to resurrect the race!! Of
course, it is an honour, and I hope the event will prove
to be the success that it was when it was last held in
May 2003.”
The gates will open at 9am, with a race brief taking place
at 10.30am and the race starting at 11.00am. There
will be prizes for the winners of each category: male runners,

(over 35), team of 3 runners and the 1st RAF Lyneham runner
to cross the finish line.
