Lyneham Theatre Club is made up of actors both service
and civilian who all have a connection with the Air Force
and who have been giving up their free time since October
to rehearse for this years Pantomime. The Theatre Club is
famed for it’s attention to detail and high standards
and has won more awards than any other RAF Station for its
stage shows.
To prepare for the opening night, children from Burton Hill
School in Malmsbury, were treated to a private viewing as
the cast performed their dress rehearsal.
Flt Lt Crispin Chapple, Officer in Charge of The Theatre
Club said, "All the hard work over the last three months
has really paid off. It’s been great fun getting to
know new cast members and we have worked well together as
a society. Once you get over the nerves, its quite a buzz
being on the stage and seeing all the faces smiling back at
you."
Group Captain Atherton, Station Commander RAF Lyneham also
attended the opening show and said: "It was a really
enjoyable evening, the performers were all excellent. I am
amazed at how the actors have the nerve to get up on stage
and do what they do. I could never do it!"
If you miss this years Pantomime, you have another chance
to see Lyneham Theatre Club’s excellent acting skills
in their One Act Plays staged in May 2006.
