The RAF Rowing Club dominated in the novice
events proving that some hard training and excellent coaching
will help you win. Squadron Leader Ange Baker and Flight Lieutenant
Kerry Shardlow from RAF Lyneham won by at least 3 boats lengths
in the Ladies Novice Coxed Pairs. They then went onto win
in the Ladies Novice Coxed Four with Flying Officer Olivia
Proctor and Senior Aircraftswoman Alex Nelson-Shaw coxed by
Flight Lieutenant Roger Titshall all from RAF Lyneham.
After a late entry in the Mixed Coxed Four Sqn Ldr Baker,
Flt Lt Shardlow and Fg Off Proctor won with help from Flt
Lt Liam Butterworth, from RAF Wattisham in Suffolk and Sergeant
Pete Wood from RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.
Fg Off Proctor, Officer in charge of Lyneham Rowing Club
said, “It’s great to see such hard effort and
dedication put into training achieve such good results. We
now hope to enter more competitions to gain more experience
and improve on our times.”
"This was an excellent days racing and proved that the
RAF Rowing Club is still successfully encouraging new novices
into the sport and giving them the skills to win"
The best of luck to our Combined Services Rowers who will
be competing at Henley Royal
Regatta at the end of June.
