The Station Act of Remembrance

Ode to the Families

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. We will remember them.

The Prayers

A Prayer for those who died in the air
Heavenly Father you are the refuge and strength of all who put their trust in you; we honour today all those who gave their lives in the air, in the service of their country: Teach us we pray, as we honour their memory and call to mind your great mercy, to renew the dedication of our lives to your service, and always to use our freedom for your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the Bereaved
Loving Father we pray for the families-many with young children who have lost husbands and fathers, sons and brothers-that they would know your abiding presence, your love and compassion with them through the difficult days ahead.

And help us all, as colleagues and friends to play our part in supporting them and one another in these difficult times-that all of us may be instruments of your love and compassion. Amen.

For the Royal Air Force
To your care and protection, O Lord of hosts, we commend the men and women of The Royal Air Force at home and overseas. Defend them in the hour of danger; strengthen them in the fulfilment of their duty; and enable them to serve their country with loyalty, courage and honour, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

With thanks to Rev Pete Tollerson

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will he done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Blessing
Go forth into the world in peace; Be of good courage; Hold fast that which is good; Render to no one evil for evil; Strengthen the fainthearted; Support the weak; Help the afflicted; Honour all people; Love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be with you all this day and evermore.

Amen.
