Tree Damage

WAS THIS NECCESSARY?
2nd August 2008
Eight months ago there was a spate of tree vandalism in the village and now some offenders have decided to de-bark another tree this weekend .

These pictures show the unwarranted vandalism of a sycamore tree on the Victoria Road estate green. The mindless individuals have completely stripped all the bark around the trunk, which will result in the deciduous tree dying.

We understand this vandalism was carried out between Friday evening 8pm and the early hours of Saturday morning.

Update: 8th August 2008
We have been emailed with the following information: Following the damage to the tree, last night, about 9.00 a group of three teenagers were walking along the path alongside the tree. They comprised of one female and two males. One male was kicking each of the lights in turn till they went out. They were heading toward Victoria Drive. The tree vandalism is sad but this is placing public safety at risk. I haven't seen the "Beat Bobby" for months.

Do you know who is responsible, or any additional information that could help find the culprits. Any information needs to be passed to Wiltshire Police 0845 4087000
