Santa's Visit to Lyneham
21st December 2004
Santa has been making his final arrangements, checking out
the geography of Lyneham village before his magical round
the world trip on Christmas Eve. Many children witnessed the
bearded wonder as he was being escorted around the village
by the Lions Club of Calne Tuesday night at 7.30pm.
Sounding out many jingles and Christmas carols, the helpers
were continuing their traditional hard work, fundraising for
local charities. The Lions Club of Calne have raised thousands
of pounds for local charities and this year along, have donated
well over £10,000, including a significant proprortion
to the Wiltshire Air
Ambulance Appeal.
Many thanks to the Lions Club of Calne for their whistle
stop tour with Santa.. Lets hope that the weather forcasters
are right and we see the snowfall on Christmas Eve. It would
make a change to wake up to Wiltshire scenes of snow. |
