RAF Lyneham was alive with the sound of music as wing personnel
competed against each other to win the Stars in Their Eyes
Karaoke competition last week. Depth Support Wing personnel
competed at the charity event in aid of Naomi House Hospice
and Hope and Homes For Children in Sarajevo and raised £320.
Hits ranging from The Village People's YMCA to Abba's Mamma
Mia were performed by the 13 acts with a clap o meter' signalling
the winner. Corporal John Burt from Equipment Handling Flight
was no solitary man as he performed Neil Diamond hits in drag,
scooping the top prize, a meal for two at Spice of Asia Indian
Restaurant in Lyneham.
The event was organised by the Depth Support Wing Charities
Committee and supported by Lyneham Radio, RAF Lyneham's radio
station which provided all the music and karaoke tunes for
the evening. |
