The Lysley Arms, standing on the busy London Road at Pewsham, has doubtless provided many weary travellers with rest and refreshment over the years. First called The Swan, it opened around 200 years ago and served as a coaching inn. Later the hostelry was bought by the Lysley family, and changed its name.

The Lysley Arms is still very popular with travellers, judging by the turnout on Sunday. These days the pub is a thriving social hub with a programme of family activities including a kids' disco one Friday a month and regular motorbike meetings during the summer months. It has an outdoor play area for youngsters and plenty of parking, making it an ideal stop-off point for drivers on a long journey, as well as a being a friendly meeting place for locals. The pub has plenty of traditional features and a relaxed atmosphere.
