The SS Great Britain was built in Britain by the famous engineer Isambard Brunel, she travelled to America, Australia, India and Russia, and finally retired in the Falkland Islands.

She worked for nearly 100 years, travelled over a million miles, and had a huge impact on world travel, engineering and shipbuilding. Find out what life was like for people travelling on the world's biggest iron steamship, from first class passengers to those travelling in cramped steerage. Explore the new interactive Dockyard Museum, where you can steer the ship on a westerly course and operate the machinery lifting Brunel's massive propeller out of water.
