Calne Young Farmers Need You! Are you aged between 10 and 26?

YFC = Young Farmers Club,

Do I have to be a farmer? = No

Do you want to have fun and learn a little?

Is Calne YFC in Calne = No Just the area

Introduction
A short introduction Young Farmers is a registered charity and there is over 1,000 clubs through out the UK, there are also similar clubs in other countries around the world. Calne YFC was set up in 1923 along with most the other clubs in Wiltshire.

YFC started just for farming based people but now is for any one who would like to learn skills in all walks of life and have an excellent social life that you will never experience any where else, and friendships that last a life time. All you need to be if you want to join YFC is prepared for making lots of friends and experiencing lots of new things.

What do you YFC do?
Apart from the things shown on the poster YFC will accommodate any thing a member would like to do into the program as best as possible, the year always kicks off with the competitions against the other clubs these include things such as;

Football, hockey, volleyball, Uni.-hoc, hockey and netball

Night-hike, swimming gala, Quiz, Member of the year, Public speaking, Brainstrust, Debating,

All members have the option to compete and they are encouraged but no one is forced to, the aim is just have a go! The year is ended by the Rally, which is the end of year competition where there is everything from; Cookery to cross country running to find out the years winning club.

During the year there are many socials both for junior members (10-15) and senior members (16-26) from discos and more formal dances to just weekends away, where seniors meet all other clubs in the southwest and then a national event.

One of the highlights of the year is the carol singing and Christmas festivities; there is no requirement you have to be good at singing! We do this to raise money for other charities.
During the year there is also a skills for life program run so members can learn anything from cookery to dry stone walling, every member gets certificates for each one taken. These are usually free or a small contribution towards the cost.

So the only requirements to be a YFC member is: "LIVE A LOT LEARN A LITTLE"
The Only other thing is we ask everyone to be considerate of others and to support your council members who run the club these are chairman, Vice-chairman, secretary, and treasurer. These are the people who keep the club running.

Important info:
All members under the age of 16 must have a consent form signed for all activities and contact names. We are child protection trained and all members are insured but they must pay there subs to be insured.
