Dads Haven
www.dads-haven.co.uk
So many sites that cater for parents tend to focus mainly on mums, so it's refreshing to see this site for fathers-to-be. A large part of the website is dedicated to product reviews of everything from milk powder dispensers to Lego, but there is also a growing community here based around the forums where young dads can discuss the nitty gritty of parenthood. The site offers up some useful links for new fathers and there is a picture gallery but we were a little surprised to see it full of amusing images. Maybe young dads need some light relief?

Greyhound and Lurcher Welfare and Rescue
www.glwr.org.uk
Greyhound and Lurcher Welfare and Rescue was set up following the closure of the Glastonbury Racetrack. The owners were concerned that greyhounds and lurchers which were seen by trainers as no longer "useful" might be put to sleep, and they wanted to offer a real alternative to this. GLWR collect the unwanted dogs from the trainers and care for them until new "forever" homes can be found for them.
