Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society

The Society is the oldest county organisation devoted to preserving and enjoying the world famous heritage of Wiltshire, including the great monuments of Stonehenge and Avebury. Beagle 2 - The Journey to Mars

The Beagle 2 project is the British led effort to land on Mars as part of the European Space Agency's Mars Express Mission. Launched on June 2nd 2003 Beagle 2 represents the most ambitious science payload to systems mass ratio ever attempted. The landing on Christmas Day brought a defree of uncertainty as Beagle 2 may have landed in a large crater on Mars and has not returned signals back to earth.
