The Village Green 2006

A rising spring sun casting shadows across the A3102 Wootton Bassett road at the Village Green. Many of the Beech, Silver Birch and Oak trees have just starting to bud providing the next seasonal generation of leaves.

Many of the trees planted on the green are protected by preservation orders by North Wiltshire District Council (now Wiltshire Council). The April spring morning and a host of golden daffodils; beside the road, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze in the words of the great poet William Wordsworth written in April 1802.

The White Hart Inn public house is situated on the roundabout junction.
