Eider Avenue November 2007

Eider Avenue in fall the maple trees have sheded their leave to blanket the ground. The houses on the left are some of the family accommodation for the Officers of Royal Air Force Lyneham built approximately 1955. This Eider Avenue, picture was taken 10th November 2007.

The large houses underwent a modernisation programme in the early 1980's to replace the old metal framed windows and install UPVC double glazed windows and doors.

When there became some surplus accommodation, owing to many service personnel purchasing their own private houses in the local community, these houses were utilised for pre-school education facilities.
