YOUNGSTERS in Lyneham have broken the
ground at their new combined school. Lyneham Junior
and Infants schools in Preston Lane is now one primary
school for children aged four to 11. New headteacher
Julie Carr took over from the two acting heads at each
school on 1st September 2007.
New signs and minor alterations were carried out in
July 2007 when the two schools closed for the summer
holidays. The two schools have space for 510 children
but construction
work on another building joining the two began yesterday
and is due to be complete by March 2008.
