Marcia Collettes Florist 1991

The image taken in May 1991 of the new Lyneham Florist shop Marcia Collettes, which is located adjacent to the Old Memorial Hall, the current village library.

Marcia recalls in 2006, “When I took on the shop everyone thought I was mad transforming a butchers shop in to a florist? But I always believed it was the right location with lots of parking outside, a captive audience and surrounding villages for deliveries.”

Thank you to Marcia Collettes for the copy of this image. Do you know any other village bygones, facts or hold images of the past, what the building was used for, who visited it, or do you you have a tale to tell with the life in Lyneham.

If so please let us know so we can fill in the missing bygones of the village and share it with everyone else. Please contact the webmaster here.
