Scores of people across the community have honoured
the men and women killed in conflicts past and present
with a two-minute silence. The purpose of the
Remembrance Sunday Service was to remember and to
give thanks for those prepared to make the ultimate
sacrifice in the service of their country.
The Royal Air Force Lyneham Standard Bearers waiting
under the overcast and rain filled skies for the Remembrance
Sunday service to start at St Michael and All Angels
Church Lyneham. The Standards, emblazoned with full
battle honours, were on parade from No 24 Squadron,
No 30 Squadron, No 47 Squadron and No 70 Squadron. |
