For a plane used to a cruising speed in excess of 300mph, it was quite a shock to see a Hercules C-130 passing through Swindon by road this weekend - at 10mph!
This image of the first C130 Hercules XV305 prepared for a last journey through Wiltshire to its resting place in Staffordshire. The gigantic air transporter was decomissioned and then dismantled at RAF Lyneham ready for a long tenuous road journey through the tight bends, roundabouts and bridges of North Wiltshire onto the M4 motorway.
