The Mothers Union 1951

Bishop Henry Kendal, vicar of Lyneham from 1946 -1951 returned in May 1976 to preach once again at the village church. Bishop and Mrs Kendal met old friends from both Lyneham and Bradenstoke when coffee was served afterwards at the village hall.

The couple had retired around 1976, but sadly Bishop Kendal passed away on the 25th July 1980 in Townsville following a period of illness. .

You can read the memoirs of the Right Reverend Kendal, revisiting the times at Lyneham click here
