Eight
fallen heroes leave Royal Air Force Lyneham on the
A3102 passing through the village towards Wootton Bassett.
Hundreds of village residents, of all generations,
lined the street to pay their final respects to the
soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving for
their Queen and Country. A spontaneous guesture of
appreciation as the coffins were beoing driven through
the village, the people broke the sombre silence,
by clapping the heroes through the village main road.
The village stores closed their doors as a sign of
appreciation and respect to the heroes too. 14th July 2009 |
