This picture was taken on the 3rd February
2009 of 64 and 64a The Green blanketed
by a dusting of snow. These properties are recorded
on the Lyneham Estate Auction of 1905 at property 404b

Up to
eight inches of snow fell across the country, bringing
the nation to a standstill. Thermometers dropped to
minus 5°C
making driving conditions extremely hazardous as the
thawed snow became black ice on the roads. Lyneham
escaped much of the disruption as only half the amount
of snow fell on the village.
