Brunel 200 Celebrations

As part of the bicentenary celebrations to mark the anniversary of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, we witness such a spectacular firework display at the Clifton Suspension Bridge Bristol.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the most versatile, audacious and inspirational engineers of the nineteenth century. Brunel was born on 9th April 1806, in Portsmouth. In a short lifespan he built 25 railway lines, more than 100 bridges, including five suspension bridges, eight pier and dock systems, three ships and a prefabricated army field hospital.

This picture was sent to BBC Points West weather presenter Richard Angwin, former Lyneham weather man, and we thank Richard Tapscott from Keynsham, near Bristol for permission to use the image on the village website.
