On March 29th 2011, the only remaining flying Vulcan, the last all-British designed and built military aircraft, flew out of RAF Lyneham for the last time.
The gigantic Cold War delta shape Vulcan bomber XH558 leaves Lyneham at 12.20pm heading to Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster, Yorkshire.
The Vulcan was on constant stand-by to drop the atomic bomb during the Cold War and was decisive during the Falklands conflict. But now there is just the historic XH558 Vulcan left and it left its home at RAF Lyneham, for the last time.
