Vulcan leaves Lyneham for last time 2011

On March 29th 2011, the only remaining flying Vulcan, the last all-British designed and built military aircraft, flew out of RAF Lyneham for the last time.

Underneath the giant delta shape wing looking back at the bung road from aircraft servicing bay 30. The LXX daffodils on the noise abatement ridge were planted by LXX Squadron who were stationed at RAF Lyneham up until they disbanded September 2010, to soon be reformed at RAF Brize Norton with the new A400M transport aircarft.
