This document was kindly loaned
by Mr Clive Hendon, who vividly remembers the business
the Yeo family used to run in the village along Chippenham
Road. He recalls the family were very skilled carpenters
and wheelwrights, often building and repairing many
of the community horse drawn wagons in the mid to early
1930's.
The paperwork records that Mr G.H. Yeo formally
thanking the village for their support over the previous
40 years and then formally handing over his Wheelwright
business to Mr Edward James Yeo, his son, known
in the community as Jimmy, on the 1st July 1929 |
