Lyneham Village Hall 2004

Lyneham Village Hall image taken during the fall of 2004 from the Lyneham Green. The perimeter hedges were removed soon after this image was taken and replaced with a wooden fence and the surrounding grounds of the Village Hall were replaced with paving bricks.

Lyneham Village Hall was built in 1937, the building funds were given as a generous bequest from Major Gerard James Buxton.

On the 26th March 1902 his name was legally changed from Gerard James Barnes by Royal License so that his wife Maud Isabel Buxton retained her maiden name when they married. Major Buxton lived at Tockenham Manor.
