The White Hart Inn and Spice of Asia 2006

The White Hart Inn and Indian Restaurant 'Spice of Asia' both located on the B4069 Chippenham Road. Pictured in March 2006 the 'Spice of Asia' bills itself as serving Bangladeshi style cuisine and is proud of using only natural ingredients.

The diverse menu is well set-out, with an explanation of each dish and includes starters, such as garlic king prawns, tikka kebabs, samosas and aloo chat, and also baltis, jalfrezis, kurmas and vindaloos.

But the Spice of Asia seems to be gaining a reputation for its special dishes designed to give the customer a truly original experience.

The Spice of Asia opened in Chippenham Road in the village 7th June 2005, and is owned by Abdul Kahhar. Mr Kahhar also owns and runs The Laibagh in Rodbourne Road and The Gulsham Brasserie in Shrivenham, He said: "This is an opportunity to bring to the Lyneham area speciality food that we have successfully been providing in Swindon for over 15 years."

The grand opening of the Spice of Asia restaurant was attended by 80 guests. Among those invited to take part in the day was the Mayor of Swindon Ray Fisher, Wootton Bassett Mayor Chris Wannell and Chippenham Mayor John Scragg along with their partners.
