Picture with thanks to Mr and Mrs Bailey

Flagstones Calne Road 1987

How times have changed, this picture taken in 1987 primarily of Flagstones Calne Road Lyneham. The house was purchased by Mr and Mrs Bailey from the Skull family, and they decided to build an extension on the back of the property. The picture also shows the main Calne Road, leading up to Church Farm, an interesting point on this image is that there was no footpath on that side of the road, just a grassed verge. A footpath was put on the roadside as a requirement when the Bakers Field housing development was built between the Jeanette's Off License & Video shop, just behing the large pine tree and Church Farm buildings.

Special thanks to Mr and Mrs Bailey for the copy of this photograph.
