Lyneham Memorial Hall was built in
1920 and provided a meeting place for he Lyneham Lads.
The
hall, was used often and we recall that one half of
the building had a three-quarter sized snooker table
and the other end of the building had table sfor the
gents to play cards and drink.
There was limited lighting and it was restricted during
the war making it difficult to enjoy their pastimes.
Heating was provided by a coal fire at each end of
the hall.
It is
now used as the Village Library. |
