Marie Hairdresser's 1961

This photograph of Marie's Ladies and Gentlemans Hairdressers was taken shortly after extensive renovation of the building to convert the previous Toll House into the village hairdressers. The young gentleman in the front of the building is Brian, Marie's son, who has been actively cutting many village and servicemans hair since 1961. How many people can remember the old post box on the Preston Lane junction outside the Lyneham School.
