The White Hart Inn

The White Hart Inn is one of two active public houses situated in the northern part of the village. The White Hart Inn has many historic facts, a part from the traditional village entertainment, it was a petrol filling station where two fuel pumps were located on the front entrance parking space.

The pub out houses were also used as a slaughter house for the local deer that was captured from Braydon forest and mail stagecoach used to use this as a stop off point to pick up the fresh venison, and take it on to Windsor castle estate.

Do you know any other bygone village facts, who was the landlords, or do you you have a tale to tell with the pub life in Lyneham. If so please let us know so we can fill in the missing bygones of the village and share it with everyone else. Please contact the webmaster here.
