The Former Police House

This 1960s house was the former Lyneham Police station before it was eventually sold on the 25 July 1994 to the general public. The Police House was owned by Wiltshire County Council as the police at the time were under the direct control of the council. Previous village bobbies to live here include PC David Bond, and Alan Sharpe.

The police residence was demolished in May 1966 and was subsequently rebulit shortly afterwards.

Do you know any former village policemen who lived in the police station, or do you you have a tale to tell with the police life in Lyneham. If so please let us know so we can fill in the missing bygones of the village and share it with everyone else. Please contact the webmaster here.
