Lyneham Church

This photograph of St Michael and All Angel's Church, possible taken in the latter part of the 19th Century illustrates the fact that the church was part of a restoration project in 1863 by the Lord of the Manor and parishioners.

The railings that stand surrounding the tombstone graves of many of the figure heads of the village have been removed at a later date, for the metal to be recycled during the Second World War.

Special thanks to Clive Hendon for the copy of this picture postcard.
