The image was taken during July 2007,
captures the southern face of the church tower and
belfry, with the magnificient yew tree blanketing the
south porch.
Many of the tombstones in the foreground belong to
the Lyneham forefathers, the Large, Pullen, Fry and
Hiskins families.
Lyneham Church is actually in the southern part of
the village and considered at the
perimeter of
the community prior to the military airbase being built
in 1940, hence the name of some local roads as Church
End. |
