Clack Mount 2006

There is still a feeling of unity within Bradenstoke village, and considerable architectural and historical interest in many of the buildings. Clack Mount and the ruined Abbey add further historical interest.

Exploring the rolling hills around neighbouring Lyneham we visited Abbey Farm on the Dauntsey banks where the former Augustian Abbey remains stand, blanketed with ivy can be seen from miles around. Clack Mount, rises at the highest point of the Corallian ridge behind Bradenstoke Abbey Farm. Placename evidence indicates it possible started as a barrow.
