This aerial picture taken October 2003
shows the RAF Lyneham main gate. The main A3102 Lyneham
to Calne road runs right to left across the centre of
the image.
Mallard Avenue runs from the bottom right corner towards
the left and looping up to the large cluster of sycamore
trees adjoing Sheld Drive. The looping roundabout among
the housing estate is Teal Avenue
The RAF Lyneham estate lies to the top of the A3102.
The large white aircraft in the top left corner is a
Comet aircraft standing as a gate guardian to the entrance.
It is clearly visible from the main road station entrance.
