This aerial picture taken October 2003
shows the RAF Lyneham families accommodation on Eider
Avenue. The main A3102 Lyneham to Calne road runs right
to left across the top of the image and Eider Avenue
joins from the two houses in the top right hand corner,
left looping down to the junction where the road continues
in another anti-clockwise loop. Notice the children's
play park (red and blue) among the Sycamore trees.
The large biscuit coloured cottage that is on the main
A3102 at the top of the image is Hobbs Cottage, which
used to be the residence of the Officer Commanding Administrative
Wing prior to private sale. The right hand adjoining
building used to be a bakery too. |
