Lyneham Schools

This aerial picture taken October 2003 shows the two schools of Lyneham. Both schools are bordered by tall evergreen trees and the Junior School is the longer of the building complex. The Infants School is the squared complex in the bottom left corner of the surrounding trees. School Grid reference - SU 026 787 GB Grid.

The housing estate to the top right corner is some former and current Air Ministry accommodation. As part of the surplus married quarter sale in November 1996 these houses were put on the market for approximately £57,000. The were snapped up in a frenzy as houses in Lyneham, as always are a premium. The sole semi-detached house located on the entrance to Harrow Grove, (top centre to image) was the first families accommodation property to be be built. Comet Close runs left to right on the bottom of the image, with Arnhem Close joining..
