|
| The Party in the Park continues from strength
to strength featuring many top acts in the pop industry, catering
for as many tastes as possible. Locally, this music extravaganza
has been located at Lydiard Park Swindon and has brought some
of the pop world top artists.
We feature some of these acts below, and since their appearance
some groups or acts have either split up and gone solo, or
decided to call it a day in the pop business.
This show has been the South West's Biggest and Best Party
in the Park. Mirroring the success of previous years music
extravaganza, star studded top chart groups make this a great
day out:

A1
The top boy band entertained with their top releases including
Caught in the Middle, No More, which reached No6 in the charts.
Dancing to the two No1 hits Same Old Brand New You and Take
On Me certainly got the female element of the audience screaming.
A1 consisted of: Christian, Paul, Ben and Mark providing
plenty of top releases and all-round entertainment. A girl's
favourite! |

The sassy young trio, who were named Best Band at the
Maxim Women of the Year Awards, are the first ladies of garage,
brighten the day with their top hits like the debut single
of Why and the later hit All I Want, which became one of the
big releases of the summer 2001. Uniquely, the girls take
their position seriously and want to come across as strong
role models. |

Kelli, Kevin, Jessica, Tony & Michelle originally found
fame as the five losing finalists in "Popstars".
However, they quickly put that disappointment behind them,
despite plenty of individual offers to go solo. The guys have
already had top 5 success with their debut single "Thinking
It Over", taken from the album of the same name.
Liberty X featured their new single, Just A
Little, which is an upbeat pop tune with a slice of R&B.
It was already jamming the dance floors up and down the UK
dragging people left, right and centre into an irresistible
groove. since then has become a favourite in many top-40 hits
of all time. |

H & Claire
bravely took on a new challenge going solo ok
not quite solo, in fact they were more of a duo really. The
former chart toppers from Steps, brought a smile back to all
the faces of their fans; who have been miserable since that
day. the popular energetic pop group annouced they were
to disband. Thye returned for a short while in the pop world
and brought back the Steps- dance routines with some of their
routines.
"How are they going to do that!" you cry in disbelief,
by dancing to the super-infectious DJ. They always
provided catchy music and dance routines, just stepping back
a few years you could say. |

3SL
Comprise of Steve Scott-Lee, Andy Scott-Lee and Ant Scott-Lee
appeared at the Party in the Park. The group 3SL are brothers
to the famous Lisa Scott-Lee formerly from Steps. The threesome
are are football crazy and broke into the charts in 2002 with
a powerful pop anthem 'Take it Easy'.
Jamelia

Many other top acts appeared in this annual extravaganza,
which forced organisers to open the show an hour earlier.
The festival line-up was so hot, famous stars wanted to
be part of the success including eighties star Limalh,
not to shy singing his hits from Kajagoogoo. Limahl
has a dual role nowadays playing concerts and festival under
the name of Limahl and a theatre career in musical shows
under his original name of Chris Hamill. The female duo
Masai
alias Anna Crane and Sharon Amos provided the male fans
with some heart pulsing routines. The
Drifters provided a lengthy melody of their famous 28
No 1 hits. There will not be a group on the stage today,
that can equal the 50 years of true professional entertainment
provided by The
Drifters. The legendary harmony group have kept their
music fresh and turning out hit after hit. Other groups
included Honeytrap, TV's All Stars, Dead
Abigails from Australia, Siana in the international
newcomers section to Wiltshire was joined by Rebekah
Del Rio from the USA. Jamie
Benson going solo, originally from the all-girl rock
band Hepburn, provided a selection of vibrating songs too.
