Calendar Events - April Fool's Day 2005

Wiltshire's GWR FM Always Ahead of the Game
Wiltshire's GWR FM played a blinder this morning by fooling their local listeners by announcing all times an hour a head of schedule.

Early risers were thrown into panic thinking that they were late for work, adjusting clocks and the popular radio station received a record number of calls, of people highlighting the time announcements were incorrect one hour ahead.

Joking radio presenters The Morning Crew; Howard, Steve and Lucy started the show off at 7am instead of the normal 6am early start. News presenters continued the confusion with altered timings. To continue with the gag, rail enthusiast and sole Southampton supporter Jez Clark came into work one hour earlier and joined in the laughter.

The penny finally dropped when a local caller phoned in to complain about the adjusted times and jokester Howard Taylor, traditionally known for his wind up pranks, kindly asked the caller what the date was.. April Fools Day... Were you one of the suckers? Be honest!

Listen Now: You can listen to Wiltshire's GWR FM on 97.2 and 102.2 FM and all around the world on the Internet just click the headphones..

Gipsies on Queen's lawn
The Sun
www.thesun.co.uk
GIPSIES have set up camp on the Queen’s lawn — using a 650 year-old law. They parked a dozen caravans on Windsor Castle’s Long Walk yesterday saying they had a RIGHT to do so. They claim to be descendents of the castle’s builders who got legal permission to pitch tents there from King Edward III in 1359.

Aides to the Queen are scouring genealogical records. Gipsy leader Ralph Fitteris said: “We could do her a good deal on tarmac.” A royal source said: “This is a disaster.”
